Every Sunday, after a short break from the morning worship service, something beautiful happens at Reconciliation Baptist Church. The children gather, and the teaching begins.
This past Sunday, Teacher Dorcus stood before one group of eager young faces, and did what faithful teachers have done for centuries, she pointed children to Christ.
The room was alive. Children leaning in. Eyes wide. Questions forming. This is what discipleship looks like at its most foundational, not a programme, not a curriculum, but a person who loves Jesus investing that love into the next generation.
Our Sunday School runs every week from 12:30pm to 1:30pm, right after the main worship service. It's designed for both adults and children, so the whole family grows together on Sunday.
For the children, it's more than a lesson. It's where they learn:
- Who God is, His character, His holiness, His love
- Who they are, made in His image, loved by their Creator
- What Jesus did, the gospel, made simple and unforgettable
- How to live, with honesty, kindness, and faith
Week by week, truth is being planted in young hearts. And Teacher Dorcus is one of the faithful hands doing the planting.
🌱 Why Children's Ministry Matters
The Bible doesn't treat children as an afterthought. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." (Matthew 19:14)
At RBC, we take that seriously. Our Children's Ministry exists because we believe that faith formed early runs deep. The child who hears about Christ at age six may be the one preaching about Him at age thirty.
🙌 Thank You, All Children's Sunday School Teachers
A thriving children's ministry doesn't happen by accident; it is built by faithful servants who invest their time, energy, and love into the lives of children. We are deeply grateful to Teacher Dorcus, Teacher Stella Twebaza, and Teacher Ruth Rayner for their remarkable dedication and selfless service. Though the seeds they plant may not always be immediately visible, their influence is shaping lives, building faith, and leaving an eternal impact. Thank you for all that you do.
We are grateful.
